Maggie McClure, a 23-year-old singer, songwriter, and pianist from Norman, OK, performed over 100 shows throughout 2009. She has played a wide variety of events from in-house concerts to national festivals.
Her unique live performance, her sincere presentation of original songs, and her creative interpretations of cover songs attract audiences of all kinds. Maggie’s sound is related by listeners to artists such as Sara Bareilles, Regina Spektor, and Norah Jones.
Maggie released her self-titled album, which was produced by Will Hunt (Ryan Cabrera, Amy Lee of Evanescence, Shane and Shane, Nick Lachey, Bethany Dillon), in 2007. Japanese indie label, Spinning, took interest and released the album nationwide in Japan in February 2009.
Many of Maggie’s songs are currently being played on MTV’s The Hills and The City, as well as CBS’s hit soap opera, The Young and The Restless.
Maggie has performed shows/festivals with or opened for: Metro Station, The Black Crowes, Of Montreal, Citizen Cope, Carney, Rooney, Ian Moore, Stardeath and White Dwarfs, Starlight Mints, The Uglysuit, CAKE, Marie' Digby, and many others.
Maggie attended South By Southwest and Red Gorilla Music Fest in March 2009. She showcased at the Vintage Lounge in downtown Austin. Maggie showcased at the Norman Music Festival in April 2009 and at Tulsa's DFEST in July 2009.
Maggie has been working on writing new material. She plans on recording her next album in the Spring 2010. She is showcasing on the Main Stage at NACA Nationals in Feb 2010 in Boston. Check back often for updates.
